Forklift Licence FAQs:

How Quickly Can I Get A Forklift Licence?
All training courses have recommended hours however, if you can demonstrate some knowledge or skills then this can reduce the amount of time needed for training. Most experienced forklift drivers find a two day course may be all that's needed.
For those who have never driven a car, have not completed any pre course study or need assistance with language and numeracy, a longer Course is usually more suited. In this situation we would recommend a three day course which includes all of the practical and theory training, as well as the licence test.
What are the study requirements?
When you book in for our training you will be asked if you have had previous experience. This gives us an idea of how much training may be required. Most people start with the 3 day course. Upon booking you will be emailed a Pre-Course Study Guide, it is a requirement of this program that you study this material prior to course attendance. It is considered that your learning begins from the moment you receive the pre-course material.
What do I need to wear?
As your training will be hands on in a simulated warehouse, please wear closed in shoes and long pants. A jacket may be required if the weather is not favourable as your training may incorporate indoor and outdoor driving.
What do I need to bring with me?
All you need to bring with you is your photo id (passport/drivers licence) and green medicare card. You should have received and studied your study guide in preparation for the theoretical assessment which is compulsory.
What if I fail the test?
If you fail the practical test, you can rebook for your test at $295 if you are eligible for funding or $449 (pricing subject to change) if you are not eligible plus $60 fee payable to Australia Post for your physical licence.

If you fail the written test – you need to re-book and come back and re-sit the test under normal test conditions. Under each scenario, your trainer will provide you with a "pink slip" advising you, you have only 60 days to re-attempt your practical / written test. Failure to do this within 60 days will mean you need to re-enrol completely and pay a fee for service rate of $295.00 if you are eligible for funding or $449 if you are not eligible, plus $60 fee payable to Australia Post for your physical licence.
What do I do once I complete?
Once you have successfully completed your forklift theory and practical tests, the trainer will issue you with a forklift notice of assessment (L2 form) which you then need to take to Australia Post along with your $60 payment, 100 points of ID (Australian ID) and passport photo. Australia Post processes this and you should receive your actual licence within approx. 3 weeks of lodgement.
